Meetings and Conventions in Bogotá

Embraced by the Andes Mountains, at 2,600 meters above sea level, Bogotá is the seat of government of Colombia and a destination which graces corporate events with a cosmopolitan air. Built on a savannah that stretches from the base of Cerro de Monserrate - whose church is symbolic of the city - more than 1,400 multinational companies and the most prestigious universities make this city their home. In terms of hosting international events, Bogotá ranked sixth among the top ten Latin American destinations, according to the 2013 ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association) table. In that sense, the Greater Bogotá Convention Bureau is in charge of promoting the city for congresses, conventions, and incentive travel, while also being the link between the travel organizer and the facilities offered at the destination.

Convention Center

In addition to conference rooms and auditoriums, the Corferias International Business And Exposition Centre offers a multifunctional hall measuring 15,000 m², the largest open area ringed by columns of the region. To the above, we can add the construction of the new International Centre, measuring 7240 m² with a capacity for 4000 people, which will be ready in 2017.

Non-traditional Places

Bogotá and Cundinamarca join up to offer 31 nonconventional sites to host conferences among which there are country restaurants, museums, and haciendas set in relaxing surroundings. The Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, which lies 180 m below ground; the Gold Museum, with over 34,000 pieces of gold and 25,000 ceramic objects, and the Botanical Gardens are only a few of these.
