Hot air balloon ride in the Coffee Region

Enjoy the views of the Coffee Cultural Landscape flying high in a hot air balloon! Flights take place early in the morning, around 6:30A M, when the atmospheric conditions are most favorable. The flight route depends on the invisible air currents; therefore, no flights are the same as the route is decided at the whim of the wind. As such, landing spots vary every time! Our pilot and his ground crew have flown all over the world, being one of the most experienced and safest balloon operators in the market. This is a unique experience that offers privilaged views of a delightful, rustic life.

An interesting fact is that this area is a paradise of biodiversity, representing a mix between different flora and water reserves. The Coffee Cultural Landscape stands out among other cultural landscapes by diverse attributes, such as its coffee cultivated at mountain heights up to 2.000 meters above sea level. From the sky, you can discover how the traditional country lifestyle and the architecture mingles with nature and modern life. A singular architecture style evolved in the area, where bright colors and ornaments are the main and dominant characteristics. A mix of constructions techniques and materials were utilized, like the "bahareque", preserving the history of settlers through this special heritage.

Hidden in the middle of an hacienda is a bamboo house where the hotel "Hacienda Bambusa" was born. It's the perfect hideaway to start exploring and becoming familiar with the Colombian Coffee Region. The house preserves the traditional architectural style of the area, and has been adapted to welcome guests, consolidating itself as the ideal destination for international travelers in the Quindío area.

Hacienda Bambusa is surrounded by the breathtaking Andes, century-old trees, and blooming gardens: it stands alone as an oasis of peace and natural beauty. Bambusa is located between cacao crops, with rural trails that loop through the crops surrounding the farm providing the perfect opportunity to enjoy a walk while taking in fresh air and delighting in the beauty of the landscape. Walking around is an opportunity in itself to observe grazing cattle and be amazed by the great variety of birds that brighten the day with their song.
