Embraced by the Andes mountain range, at 2,600 meters above sea level, Bogotá is the seat of the Colombian government and a destination that lends its cosmopolitan character to corporate events. There, on a savanna that stretches at the foot of Monserrate Hill—whose church is a symbol of the city—more than 1,400 multinational companies operate alongside the most prestigious universities in the country. In terms of hosting world-class events, the capital ranked sixth among the top ten Latin American destinations, according to the 2013 ranking by ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association). In this regard, the Greater Bogotá Convention Bureau is the entity responsible for promoting the city as a venue for congresses, conventions, and incentive trips, while also serving as the link between event organizers and the destination’s offerings.
