Valencia is part of the Córdoban Urabá region. The land is well suited for agriculture and for livestock. The traditional fiestas de corraleja (bullfighting events) are held from April to June and attended by the people from neighboring towns, such as Tierralta, Montería, and San Pedro de Urabá. Corralejas are also held in Cereté, Cotorra, and Purísima, among other municipalities.
