The José Celestino Mutis Botanical Garden is named after the director of the Botanical Expedition of the Kingdom of New Granada, which began on April 30, 1783 to document Colombia’s natural wealth. This 47-acre site is home to moorlands, Andean forests, and cloud forests, a rose garden with 73 kinds of roses, and greenhouses with warm, dry, and rainy climates.
