Caycedo square is the commercial, religious and civic heart of life in Cali, a park in the historic centre of the capital of the department of Valle del Cauca in which several palm trees stretch up toward the sky. The square’s name is a tribute to Joaquín Cayzedo y Cuero a hero of our Independence, whose statue stands in the centre of the square.
