Friar’s Mansion, opposite the main park in Girón is a museum where 18th century objects are exhibited. It is housed in a colonial building with three courtyards, two floors, and whitewashed walls. Eloy Valenzuela, who participated in the Botanical Expedition led by José Celestino Mutis, was born in this house. There is also a traditional Santander restaurant and a craft store.
