Nariñense art is present in the Pasto Cathedral with oil paintings by Isaac Santacruz and Miguel Astorquiza. The church, demolished in the late 19th century, was replaced by a temple and consecrated as the cathedral of Pasto in January 1920. Relics of the original temple of San Francisco, such as a wooden cross and life-sized crucified Jesus, are preserved there.
