In Leticia and surrounding indigenous communities, a wide variety of Amazonian handicrafts are sold. The Ticuna and Huitoto people make souvenirs for tourists from fibers of native plant species and color them using bark and vegetable dyes. Souvenirs include ceramic pots and sculptures in balsa wood or bloodwood.
