This is where it all began: at the Plazoleta del Chorro de Quevedo, it is believed that Bogotá was founded on August 6, 1538. This open space in the La Candelaria district, where a missionary chapel is located, can be reached via an old, narrow, cobblestone street called Calle del Embudo. The square serves as a stage for street artists and is a meeting place for university students.
