Where spring is eternal
Medellín, capital of Antioquia department, has a pleasant climate of around 24°C; offers modern transport systems like Metro and Metro Cable an efficient infrastructure which has allowed it to host world-class events such as OAS and IDB meetings. Located in a valley surrounded by mountains, this city is always friendly to visitors.
What to do in Medellín?
From the mountains that surround the capital of Antioquia you can see how the Medellín River runs parallel to the Metro, which connects various parts of the city. There is an abundance of parks, libraries, museums and public spaces where many Cultural events take place. Flowers have their own fair and in the surrounding villages life is simple with relaxing landscapes and nature reserves.
Ingenuity is a quality which the people of Antioquia prize, so it is not surprising that in 2013 Medellín was named the most innovative city in the world in the Wall Street Journal's City of the Year Contest. The 'City of Eternal Spring' is also notable for the wide range of goods on offer for those who like modern shopping malls.

"This was a great tour of Medellin! Our guide Sara from Medellin Travels was very knowledgeable, very accommodating, and she made this tour very pleasant. Part of the tour was in a car, part - on the Metra, part - on the cable car, and part - on foot.
We had just enough hiking to get mildly tired, and we've seen the highlights of the city, including the famous Communa 13. "
Oscar was a fantastic tour guide. We left early to avoid traffic and it was a great move as there was significant blockage at Guatape after we had arrived. He also went out of his way to show us unique places to take pictures. Oscar is not only a great driver and spoke great english, he had in-depth knowledge about Colombia’s history and current affairs. Highly recommended.
Very original and excellent tour! One of the best tours I’ve ever been to. Andres is great and the communities where he takes you are very interesting and you learn a lot. If you want to learn about a very real part of Medellin then I highly recommend it!
Steven was our family’s guide for the Comuna 13 tour and he is fantastic. He is so proud of his city and knows everyone. We even got to meet one of the local artists whose art is prominent in Comuna 13. His knowledge of the city is impressive and he goes above and beyond with all the details to provide an excellent day. We so enjoyed our day that we rearranged our other plans in Medellin and booked Steven for another day.
This was an amazing tour to a local coffee farm where we got to see how coffee was planted, harvested and prepared for sale. We also visited a coffee lab and learned what happens to coffee beans after they leave the farm. Our tour guides (Santiago and Paulo) were wonderful and very knowledgeable. They made the tour both interesting and fun. And of course we had delicious coffee! We highly recommend this tour!
