The sun plays with the colors of the carved stone façade of the Immaculate Conception of Barichara church, which appears bright yellow in the morning and takes on a clay-like ochre hue in the afternoon. It is estimated that this temple, located in front of the main park, was built in 1838. Its main altar, covered with gold leaf, and the ten columns supporting the arches stand out. 

This church is sometimes mistaken for another church in Jardín, Antioquia, called Immaculate Conception Church, which holds the title of a minor basilica. Although they share the name and devotion to the Virgin Mary, each has its own charm and appeal. Both are must-visit destinations on a trip to Colombia, where visitors can admire the beauty of their architecture, immerse themselves in the local culture, and experience the religious devotion deeply rooted in the country's history.
