In the Taironaka nature reserve, at kilometre 58 on the road to Riohacha, visitors may notice the cultural and historical significance of the Tayrona culture. There are restored terraces where the Indians built their homes and an archaeological museum with original artefacts. The area is of great importance for Koguis, direct descendants of the Tayrona.
