"Noches de faena: stories of a fishing village"

You will be amazed at the mythical stories the fishermen tell about their work. The appearance of giant fish, stories of shipwrecks, shark scares and life lessons you can listen to between sounds, verses and stories with the traditional fishermen of La Punta de los Remedios. Share a fishing campfire with those who know the secrets of the sea and learn about each of the techniques and equipment required. Weave the nets to be used for fishing with your own hands and help the women process the catch. Sit down to talk about myths, omens and experiences at sea and learn about all the knowledge surrounding the culture of fishing!

In this experience you will learn to weave fishing nets.

In this experience you can spend a few pleasant hours between stories and myths about fishing around the fire and end up with a generous plate of seafood or traditional fishing. You can also choose to learn how to cook a traditional dish with the women that transform these products in La Punta de los Remedios and taste your preparation amidst songs and stories of fishermen. Whether your interest is to have fun with stories and learn how to weave fishing nets or if you would rather learn how to cook, this fishing experience will fascinate you. This experience lasts approximately 3 hours and takes place in La Punta de los Remedios, 20 minutes from Dibulla, the municipal capital. It includes transportation to and from Dibulla and a local guide.

Dibulla, land of songwriters

The legacy of composer Carlos Huertas is everywhere! Come and find in the streets of the town characters that can compose verses and interpret them to the sound of the rhythms of the coast. Sit down to share with these characters or simply let yourself be surprised with some composition of which you could be the protagonist! And if you like to dance, you won't want to miss the Estampas Punteras Dance Group, which will tell you stories and traditions through their movements to the rhythm of the region.

In this experience you can spend a few pleasant hours between songs and verses around the fire. You can learn to play traditional instruments with the group "los hijos de Carlos Huertas" and if you dare, you can compose verses and participate in the famous "piquerías", or verse contests. If you like dancing, you can choose to see the Estampas Punteras dance group performing typical dances or you can share a dance class with the whole group. Whether you want to listen and appreciate or have a teaching experience together with the cultural groups, this experience will fascinate you. This experience can last between 1 and 2 hours, according to your preference and takes place in Dibulla, the municipal capital. It includes a local guide.

Dibulla, ideal place to discover and visit

In this experience you can walk around the city, getting to know its history and monuments. You can also choose to go hiking in the countryside.

URBAN: Dibulla is a place full of history and curiosities! Take a map and walk through its streets to know the mixed (tradional vehicle), the church, the movie theaters, the library, the houses with names, the statue of the donkey, the Bolivar without a hand, the cemetery and many other attractions that are part of our culture. The urban spaces contain the group of expressions, products and objects of the cultural heritage, some groups or individual goods, which you can visit to recognize their special symbolic, artistic, aesthetic or historical values, through the stories of the dibulleros. This urban route takes place in the municipal head. You can choose to walk or ride a traditional motorbike. The tour includes hydration, a snack at one of the points of the gastronomic tour and a local guide trained to tell the stories. It lasts between 1 and 2 hours depending on the type of mobilization you decide to use.

RURAL: if you like walking and living rural adventures, you just have to choose one path. Do you want to go to "El Lagarto" or "El Cerro"? Find trails that go through the steps of natural paths. Paths that maintain the immensity of the Caribbean Sea and offer multiple scenarios of unique photographs, thanks to the coastal marine ecosystems that are formed. Come and walk with the sound of the sea, or trot with the lullaby of the breeze. Watch birds and reptiles like the needle caiman or get to know the history of the chimney that stands inside the vegetation and tells the story of an old sugar mill where sugar cane was processed.

PATH TO LAGARTO: This trail, which follows the steps of a natural path along the beach, starts in La Boca. A path that transforms itself and allows you to enjoy different landscapes. You can go at a slow pace, while enjoying the sound of the sea, or trotting with the cooing of the breeze, the finish line of this path is the swamp, habitat of reptiles and a place where, according to the dibulleros, you can see alligators (Crocodylus acutus), American crocodiles that can measure up to 4.5 meters long, which, according to oral tradition, respond to the call of a person. This walking tour on the beach lasts approximately 3 hours. It includes hydration, a traditional snack under coconut palms, and a local guide who tells you stories along the way. It is of medium difficulty, you must be a good hiker! 

PATH TO THE HILL: This path, which follows the tracks of a rural road, starts next to the bridge that allows the passage over the Jerez River, in the place where it is usual to see the washerwomen hitting the stone with a manduco. It is a path recognized by dibulleros for being one of those places they visited as children, to pick up mangoes. The path, on which hundred-year-old trees rise and serve as a habitat for some of the birds that visit them at certain times of the year, is walked by the farmers and local residents, who go there every day to work and transport the products that are grown and harvested in the area. At the end of this road, a chimney built of brick and cement stands inside the vegetation. Although it is not part of the landscape, it tells the story of an old sugar mill where sugarcane was processed. This journey on foot along an open path takes approximately 40 minutes. It includes hydration, a traditional snack and a local guide who tells you stories along the way. It has low difficulty, it is suitable for everyone!
